- The value of the gifts;<br />
- The regularity (dates) of the gifts;<br />
- The purpose of the gifts.<br />
10. Zero Income Status<br />
The family will be required to complete Monthly Budget forms and a certification statement.<br />
Families claiming to have no income will be required to provide verification of all sources of income<br />
such as unemployment benefits, Cal works, etc. are not being received by the household.<br />
SDHC may request information from the State Employment Development Department.<br />
SDHC may run a credit report.<br />
11. Full-time Student Deduction<br />
1) Non-Moving Forward: Full-Time Student Deduction<br />
Households with full-time student/s 18 years of age or older, not including the head of household<br />
or spouse, are eligible to receive a “Full-Time Student Deduction” when calculating the annual<br />
income if proper verification/documentation is provided.<br />
The deduction includes:<br />
- $480 per year for each full-time student<br />
- Not counting earned wages in excess of $480 per year.<br />
In order to qualify for the deduction, each adult in the household who is a full-time student (18<br />
years of age or older, not including the head of household or spouse), must provide proof (from the<br />
school) that verifies his/her student status which includes a complete transcript (with the current<br />
term).<br />
A school transcript must be provided at:<br />
- Intake process<br />
- Annual reexamination<br />
- Move/other change of unit<br />
- And as required by SDHC<br />
2) Moving Forward: Full-time Student Deduction<br />
Households with full-time student/s 18 to 23 years of age, not including the head of household or<br />
spouse, are eligible to receive a “Full-Time Student Income Deduction” when calculating the annual<br />
income if proper verification/documentation is provided.<br />
The deduction includes:<br />
- Exclusion of 100% of earned wages per year.<br />
In order to qualify for the deduction, each adult in your household who is a full-time student (18 to<br />
23 years of age, not including the head of household or spouse), must provide proof (from the<br />
school) that verifies his/her student status which includes a complete transcript (with the current<br />
term).<br />
