STEERING GEAR- To add a smoke component, add a single wheel or to delete the gear from the aircraft, right click on the Gear directory. Use either the Up/down arrow keys on the keyboard, or the mouse to select the desired option. If using the arrow keys, press Enter to finalize your selection. COMPONENT FRAME- This value represents the component frame of the item; in this case, the steering (nose) gear. Clicking on the respective value column will bring forth the pull-down menu selection of the various Component Frames. LANDING GEAR TYPE- This option selects the type of landing gear for your aircraft. Each landing gear type offers unique characteristics relative to the materials utilized. To select the type of landing gear utilized on your model, click the value for this item. This will bring forth the pull-down menu selections for the various materials. Select the desired type from the list. LANDING GEAR LENGTH- This setting determines the length of the landing gear itself. It does not include the wheel. To change the length of the landing gear, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. LOCATION IN PARENT- This value represents the location of the item with respect to the parent or main object. To modify the location of the item, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. The X-axis value represents a movement, left or right, with respect to the parent object. A negative value shifts the location to the left. A positive value shifts the location to the right. The value of the Y-axis represents a movement forward or backward with respect to the parent object. A negative value shifts the location rearward. A positive value shifts the location forward. The Z-axis value moves the location up or down with respect to the parent. A positive value moves the location up. A negative value moves the location down. MAX STEERING ANGLE (DEG)- This value determines the maximum angular travel values for the nose wheel. To modify the steering angle (throw) of the nose gear, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. Larger values allow the wheel to travel further. RETRACT SERVO- This drop down list indicates which servo(if any) controls the retractable landing gear. To select the servo, click the value box. This will bring forth the drop-down menu. Mouse click on one of the options in the drop-down menu or use the up/down arrow keys on the keyboard. If using the up/down arrows, press the Enter button to finalize your selection. RETRACT SERVO REVERSE- Once have selected a servo to control the retractable landing gear, this setting allows you to dictate whether to reverse the output of the retract servo. To make your selection, click the respective value box. Select either Yes or No from the pull-down menu. ROTATION ABOUT X (GEAR DOWN) (DEG)- This value indicates the degree of rotation around the X-axis when the gear is in the down position. To adjust the rotational degree about the X-axis when the gear deploys, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. Larger positive values will sweep the gear towards the front of the fuselage when it deploys. ROTATION ABOUT X (GEAR UP) (DEG)- This value indicates the degree of rotation around the X-axis when the gear is in the up position. To adjust the rotational degree about the X-axis when the gear retracts, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. Larger positive values will sweep the gear towards the front of the fuselage when it retracts. ROTATION ABOUT Y (GEAR DOWN) (DEG)- This value indicates the degree of rotation around the Y-axis when the gear is in the down position. To adjust the rotational degree about the Y-axis when the gear is deployed, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. Larger positive values will sweep the gear outwards, towards the left wing tip. A negative value will cause the gear to sweep towards the right wing tip.
