WALK SOUNDS ENABLED-
This setting determines whether to play the various walk sound effects.
To determine whether or not to play the walk sounds, click on the respective value
indicator. Using either the up/down arrow keys on the keyboard, or the mouse,
select either Yes (walk sounds audible) or No (walk sounds inaudible) from the pulldown
listings. If using the up/down arrow keys, press Enter to finalize your
selection.
3D ROLLOFF FACTOR-
This is the rate at which sounds attenuate on their way back to the user. Increasing
the value exaggerates the effect. Conversely, decreasing the number reduces the
effect.
To modify the existing Rolloff Factor, click on the respective value indicator. The
desired values may be input directly from the keyboard or modified using the mouse
wheel.
DOPPLER FACTOR-
This setting controls the affect of the Doppler sound shift as a direct result of the
proximity of the source in relationship to the pilot. As with the 3D Rolloff Factor,
increasing the number exaggerates the shift. A decreased value reduces the effect.
To disable it altogether, simply input a Value of 0.
To modify the existing Doppler Factor, click on the respective value indicator. The
desired values may be input directly from the keyboard or modified using the mouse
wheel.
SYSTEM MESSAGES
The System Messages options and settings allow you to perform a number of
modifications to the messages that appear on-screen while running the simulation.
