THROTTLE SERVO REVERSE- Once you have decided which servo will control the throttle, this setting allows you to dictate whether or not to reverse the output of the throttle servo. To make your selection, click the respective value box. Select either Yes or No from the drop-down menu. TORQUE GENERATOR- For information pertaining to the Torque Generator features, functions, etc. please refer to the Torque Generator section located in the Edit Current Aircraft…Airplane section of this help file. TORQUE FROM ENGINE MODIFICATION (%)- This allows you to modify the torque curve of the engine without adjusting the individual points along the curves. It provides a constant scaling factor throughout the curve. To modify this setting, click the respective value. Next, input the desired value directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. WEIGHT OF MECHANICS- This setting allows you to adjust the weight of the mechanics, including the engine. Usually this accounts for 70-80% of the weight of the entire helicopter. To modify this setting, click the respective value. Next, input the desired value directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. CURRENT MASS OF SELF (READ ONLY)- The weight of the mechanics, including the engine, but not including any sub-parts listed under Heli Mechanics. CURRENT MASS WITH CHILDREN (READ ONLY)- The weight of the mechanics, including the engine and all other parts attached to the helicopter mechanics. CURRENT TORQUE GENERATOR RPM (RPM) (READ ONLY)- This value displays real-time RPM data. Move the throttle up or down to see the effects of your input on the RPMs. 182 • Chapter 7. MAIN ROTOR COMPONENT These are the settings and values for the main rotor of the helicopter. The main rotor is an integral component. Without it the helicopter cannot leave the ground. To delete this component, right click on the main rotor listing. Select Delete Component. BLADE TYPE- The rotor blades have a tremendous impact on the flight characteristics of the helicopter. This setting allows you to select the type of rotor blades used by the helicopter. G3 offers a number of preset rotor blades for use during the simulation. You may also create custom rotor blades. To select an alternative pair of rotor blades, click on the respective value box. Next, click the more options button (the gray folder with the ellipsis) to bring forth the available options. Use either the Up/down arrow keys on the keyboard, or the mouse to select the desired option. Creating Custom Rotor Blades- RealFlight includes a variety of real-world rotor blade data pertaining to many of the most popular rotor blades available. This data brings real-world performance to the simulation. Copy- This option duplicates the information and data pertaining to the currently selected rotor blades. This is the first step in creating customized rotor blades. To copy the rotor blades, click Copy. Next, enter a name for the new blades. After you have entered the desired name, click OK.
