To modify this value, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. A value of zero indicates that the aileron extends completely to the end of the wing. A non-zero value indicates that the aileron does not extend to the wing tip. LENGTH- This value represents the length of one of the ailerons. To modify the length of the aileron, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. MAXIMUM DEFLECTION (DEG)- This setting sets a limit on the upward travel of the ailerons. Please note: this value is expressed in degrees. Higher values mean that the upward travel of the ailerons will increase as well. To modify this setting, click the respective value box. Next, enter the desired value directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. MINIMUM DEFLECTION (DEG)- This setting adjusts the downward travel of the ailerons. Please note: this value is expressed in degrees. Higher negative values mean that the downward travel of the ailerons will increase as well. To modify this setting, click the respective value box. Next, enter the desired value directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. PERCENT OF CHORD AT ROOT (%)- This value determines the percent of wing chord that the aileron occupies at the closest position to the fuselage. 158 • Chapter 7. PERCENT OF CHORD AT TIP (%)- This value determines the percent of wing chord that the aileron occupies at the wing tip.
