COMPONENT FRAME-
This value represents the component frame of the item; in this case, the top fin.
RealFlight G3 does not allow you to alter the component frame for the top fin.
DIHEDRAL (DEG)-
This option adjusts the dihedral of the top fin. Dihedral is generally expressed in
degrees. It refers to the v-shaped bend in the fin when viewed from the front of the
aircraft.
To adjust the dihedral, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the
desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. Larger
values will increase the dihedral or v-bend of the fin.
LEADING EDGE SWEEP (DEG)-
This setting determines the sweep of the top fin as measured from the leading edge.
To adjust the sweep, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter the desired
value directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. A value of 0° corresponds
to a fin with a straight leading edge. As the leading edge sweep increases in value,
the fin sweeps, or angles back towards the tail. A negative value for the leading edge
sweep will cause the fin to sweep forward towards the nose of the aircraft.
STRENGTH MULTIPLIER (%)-
This value indicates the strength or ability of the top fin to resist damage. Increasing
this value will increase the strength of the fin.
To adjust the strength of the fin, click the existing value in the value box. Next,
enter the desired value directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. Higher
values increase the strength of the wings, making them more resistant to damage.
WASHOUT AT TIP (DEG)-
This value dictates the amount of washout, or twist, at the tip of the top fin. Washout
is an intentional twist induced into the fin, which causes the tips to offer a lower
angle of attack.
To adjust the amount of washout, click the existing value in the value box. Next,
enter the desired value directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel. Higher
values will increase the amount of washout.
WEIGHT-
This indicates the weight of the top fin.
To adjust the weight of the fin, click the existing value in the value box. Next, enter
the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel.
WING LENGTH-
This value represents the length of the top fin.
To modify the length of the top fin, click the existing value in the value box. Next,
enter the desired value either directly from the keyboard or via the mouse wheel.
