role of the “pivotal actor to Asia”
Has the Kremlin obtained full and
unequivocal support from Beijing,
presenting a common front against
the US In a statement on 2 March
2014, a Chinese Foreign Ministry
representative explained that Beijing
Central Asian governments.
On June 15, China inaugurated another
gas pipeline, which will run from
Turkmenistan through Uzbekistan
and Kazakhstan to western China. It
Liu Jieyi, Permanent Representative of China to the UN, said after the vote that Beijing sought a
“balanced” solution to the conflict within a framework of law and order. He called for the creation of a
coordination group, a support package for Ukraine, and also called on countries to refrain from action
which could further escalate the conflict.
