If the woman experienced menses after she had performed four<br />

rounds and then she continued to perform the remaining three<br />

rounds (in the state of uncleanness) whether or not due to some<br />

comp<strong>ul</strong>sion, Dam will be due. The same r<strong>ul</strong>ing wo<strong>ul</strong>d apply if she<br />

left for her country after performing four rounds, missing three<br />

rounds without any reason. If she repeats the Ṭawāf performed in<br />

the state of menses, Dam will become void, though she repeats it after<br />

the days of ritual sacrifice have passed. If she has performed three<br />

rounds in the state of cleanness and the rest four in uncleanness,<br />

she is required to pay Badanaĥ. Furthermore, it is also Wājib to<br />

repeat this Ṭawāf.<br />

It is stated in Baĥār-e-Sharī’at: If the whole of or most part, i.e. four<br />

rounds of a Farḍ Ṭawāf is performed in the state of uncleanness or<br />

menses or post-natal bleeding, Badanaĥ is due. Repetition is Wājib<br />

after the attainment of cleanness in this case. If it is done without<br />

Wuḍū, Dam is due. (ibid, pp. 1175) In case of repeating it after the<br />

attainment of cleanness, Badanaĥ will become void as stated above.<br />

Ṭawāf-uz-Ziyāraĥ of menses-experiencing woman whose<br />

flight is booked<br />

Question 3: What sho<strong>ul</strong>d a woman do if she is experiencing menses<br />

and has not yet performed Ṭawāf-uz-Ziyāraĥ while her seat for return<br />

flight has already been booked<br />

Answer: If possible, she sho<strong>ul</strong>d get the reservation of her seat<br />

cancelled and perform Ṭawāf-uz-Ziyāraĥ after attaining purity. If<br />

the cancellation of reservation causes diffic<strong>ul</strong>ty for her or her<br />

travelling companions, she can perform Ṭawāf-uz-Ziyāraĥ in the
