you return the Ḥarām earnings that are in your possession to<br />

7. I will avoid asking for a discount whilst purchasing things for<br />

the Hajj pilgrimage. (A’lā Ḥaḍrat Imām Aḥmad Razā Khān<br />

<br />

has stated, ‘It is better as well as a Sunnaĥ to argue<br />

for discount whilst purchasing things except the ones purchased<br />

for Hajj-pilgrimage. It is better to pay what the seller demands<br />

whilst making purchases for this pilgrimage.) (Fatāwā Razawiyyaĥ,<br />

vol. 17, pp. 128)<br />

8. At the time of departure, I will seek forgiveness from my family<br />

members, relatives and friends regarding their rights I have<br />

violated. I will make them pray for me. {One attains blessings<br />

when others pray for him. The prayer made by others for a person<br />

is more likely to be answered.<br />

On page 111 of ‘Blessings of Du’ā’ [the 326-page publication of<br />

Maktaba-t<strong>ul</strong>-Madīnaĥ, the publishing department of <strong>Dawat</strong>-e-<br />

<strong>Islami</strong>], it is stated: Sayyidunā Mūsā <br />

was told,<br />

‘O Mūsā! Make Du’ā to Me with the tongue with which you have<br />

not committed any sin.’ Sayyidunā Mūsā <br />

said,<br />

‘Almighty! Where sho<strong>ul</strong>d I bring such a tongue from’ (Note that<br />

this is the humbleness of Sayyidunā Mūsā <br />

<br />

because every Prophet <br />

is absolutely secured from<br />

committing any sin.) Allah <br />

said, ‘Make others pray for<br />

you as you have not committed any sin with their tongue.’}<br />

9. I will take extra provisions and earn reward by spending them<br />

on my companions and by donating them to deserving beggars<br />

as charity. (To do so is a sign of Hajj Mabrūr.) A Mabrūr Hajj<br />

and ‘Umraĥ are the ones that contain righteousness and goodness,
