Question 14: How will a child perform the Ṭawāf<br />

Answer: A mature child sho<strong>ul</strong>d perform the Ṭawāf himself and<br />

offer the Nawāfil of Ṭawāf, whereas the guardian of an immature<br />

child sho<strong>ul</strong>d make him perform the Ṭawāf. However, the guardian<br />

sho<strong>ul</strong>d not offer the two Rak’āt of Ṭawāf on behalf of this child.<br />

Question 15: How can a child be made to perform Ramī<br />

Answer: A mature child will perform Ramī himself. Those<br />

accompanying an immature child sho<strong>ul</strong>d perform Ramī on his behalf.<br />

It is better to place stones onto the hand of the child and help perform<br />

Ramī. (Mansik Mutawassiṭ, pp. 247; Fatāwā Razawiyyaĥ, vol. 10, pp. 667; Baĥār-e-<br />

Sharī’at, vol. 1, pp. 1148)<br />

Question 16: If a child misses any of Hajj rites or commits such an<br />

act which makes expiation or Dam due, what is the r<strong>ul</strong>ing in this<br />

regard<br />

Answer: If a child misses some act or commits a prohibited act, it is<br />

not Wājib upon him to do Qaḍā or pay expiation. Similarly, if the<br />

guardian of an immature child puts on Iḥrām on his behalf and the<br />

child commits some prohibited act, the father is not required to do<br />

Qaḍā or pay expiation. (‘Ālamgīrī, vol. 1, pp. 236; Baĥār-e-Sharī’at, vol. 1,<br />

pp. 1075)<br />

Question 17: What will one have to do if a child invalidates the Hajj<br />

Answer: If a child invalidates the Hajj, no Dam is Wājib upon him.<br />

It is also not Wājib to do Qaḍā of Hajj even if a mature child has done<br />

so. (‘Ālamgīrī, vol. 1, pp. 236; Rad-d<strong>ul</strong>-Muḥtār, vol. 3, pp. 673)<br />
