<strong>Rafiq</strong>-<strong>ul</strong>-<strong>Haramayn</strong> 228<br />
This r<strong>ul</strong>ing will apply only when Ḥalq is performed within its<br />
stip<strong>ul</strong>ated time, i.e. the days of ritual sacrifice after the Ramī of<br />
10 th Ż<strong>ul</strong>-Ḥijja-til-Ḥarām. If someone gets Ḥalq done before he has<br />
performed Ramī or after the days of ritual sacrifice have passed,<br />
Dam will be Wājib for him. If an ‘Umraĥ-performing person gets<br />
Ḥalq done before Sa’ī, Dam will be due for him. If he has performed<br />
complete Ṭawāf or most (i.e. four) rounds of it, he will get out of the<br />
restrictions of Iḥrām otherwise not. Even if many days have passed,<br />
the commandment of Sa’ī will not become void as it is Wājib and<br />
will have to be performed.<br />
Question 5: If a person who has made the intention of Hajj Ifrād<br />
took off Iḥrām after he has performed ‘Umraĥ, what sho<strong>ul</strong>d he do<br />
and what is the expiation<br />
Answer: To take off the Iḥrām of Hajj after performing ‘Umraĥ is<br />
not permissible and the person doing so will not also get out of the<br />
restrictions of Iḥrām but rather he will remain Muḥrim as usual. It<br />
is mandatory for him to take off Iḥrām after he has performed the<br />
rites of Hajj. To make the intention of taking off Iḥrām without<br />
performing the rites of Hajj is not sufficient. Since the restrictions<br />
of Iḥrām still exist, expiation will also be due in case of committing<br />
forbidden acts. However, only one expiation will be due even if he<br />
has committed all the acts forbidden in Iḥrām. For example, if he<br />
has put on stitched clothes, applied fragrance, had his head shaved<br />
etc., he is required to pay only Dam for all these acts. It is now<br />
mandatory for him to take off the stitched clothes and put on<br />
unstitched Iḥrām again, to repent and to perform the rites of Hajj<br />
with the intention of the Iḥrām of the same previous Hajj.<br />
Question 6: If a person who wants to perform the ritual sacrifice of<br />
Eid-<strong>ul</strong>-Aḍḥā puts on Iḥrām after the appearance of the moon of<br />
Ż<strong>ul</strong>-Ḥijjaĥ, sho<strong>ul</strong>d he trim nails and remove unnecessary hair etc.
