However, it is still better to perform ‘Umraĥ after these five days<br />

have passed. (Lubāb-<strong>ul</strong>-Manāsik, pp. 466)<br />

Question 9: If a Ḥillī or Ḥaramī performs ‘Umraĥ as well as Hajj<br />

during the months of Hajj, what is the r<strong>ul</strong>ing for him<br />

Answer: Dam will be Wājib for him because he is only allowed to<br />

perform Hajj Ifrād that contains no ‘Umraĥ. However, he can<br />

perform ‘Umraĥ only.<br />

Question 10: How is it for a Muḥrim to wash hands before and after<br />

the meal If he did not wash hands before the meal, germs will go into<br />

the stomach, and if he did not wash them after the meal, the hands<br />

will remain smelly with stains on them. What sho<strong>ul</strong>d he do<br />

Answer: He can wash hands before and after the meal without using<br />

soap. If there is any other type of stain or dirt on the hands, he can<br />

wipe them with a piece of cloth taking care not to remove any hair.<br />

Question 11: How is it for a Muḥrim to dry his hands and face with<br />

a handkerchief after making Wuḍū<br />

Answer: He cannot touch cloth to face (a male Muḥrim cannot<br />

touch it even to his head); the rest of the body can be dried with<br />

such precaution that neither dirt be removed nor any strand of hair<br />

is broken.<br />

Question 12: Is a Muḥrimaĥ allowed to wear a veil-attached cap or<br />

a projected veil in such a way that it does not touch her face<br />

Answer: She can do so, but if the veil touches the whole of her face<br />

even for a short while as a res<strong>ul</strong>t of wind or her own hand’s touching<br />

the veil mistakenly, expiation will become due.
