Like all the work which the great
This total of 2774 repre
its prayer cycle has been increased in
number and in scope until it now has
a membersip of more than 1200,. encircling
the globe. That God hears
and answers these prayers is attested
by the marvelous way in which the
Institute has sent its influence to the
needy quarters of the earth.
During the twenty-eight years since
its beginning, the Institute has trained
upward of 1200 students, representing
every civilized country and
practically all evangelical churches.
Of the number trained, about 700
have gone to the foreign fields, while
thousands have entered upon the various
fieldsof Christian work in the
the former students are true to th-^
Bible as the inspired word of God, the
deity of the Lord Jesus and the regeneraticfn
of mankind by the Holy
Spirit through faith in Christ; and
they do their best to make these principles
paramount in the evangelization
of the world.
The activities of the Institute include
the following: An Educational
Department consisting of day classes
for resident students, and evening
classes for those living in and nea:'
Chicago; a Correspondence Department
by which the Bible and practical
methods are taught through the
mails; the Extension Department,
through which evangelists and Bible
teachers are sent out for gospel campaigns
tide of pernicious reading matter that
The Institute plant occupies the
main portion of a city block and, with
a limited endowment, is valued at
The Presbyterian Church has always
