The wisdom and goodness of God are plainly
manifested in the establishment of home life, which
has been a joy to all people—the source of countless
blessings.
Because something of the same mind is in
Christian people which was also in Christ Jesus,
homes have been founded where lonely ones are
brought together into one great family.
The Covenanter Church has established a Home
for Aged People and by the good hand of our God
upon us, it has prospered.
The request is made each year, by those in charge
of this Home, for ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS to
help defray the current expenses of this institution,
and the Synod has responded by an appropriation
of this amount and the Third Sabbath of July is the
time named for this collection. This amount is
needed and, if given, will be a blessing not
those who receive, but to those who give.
