CRPD supports professional development of clinical research coordinators <strong>and</strong> research<br />

staff involved in all aspects of clinical research. It is focused on the Lower Mainl<strong>and</strong>, with<br />

the potential to broaden the initiative throughout B.C.<br />

The CRPD program is an education initiative led by a group of individuals committed to<br />

supporting the professional development of clinical research coordinators, managers <strong>and</strong><br />

others involved in clinical research from the Lower Mainl<strong>and</strong>’s teaching hospitals’ research<br />

institutes. It offers seminars <strong>and</strong> workshops in accordance with a structured curriculum.<br />

Attendees can receive a certificate of attendance for documentation of their participation<br />

which can be used for continuing education credits.<br />

The CRPD program comprises quarterly workshops on topics including:<br />

• GCP<br />

• Budgeting <strong>and</strong> Finance<br />

• Ethics <strong>and</strong> Regulatory Issues<br />

• Human Resources<br />

• Communication Skills<br />

• Project Management<br />

CFRI also provides a monthly education forum specific to <strong>Clinical</strong> Research Coordinators.<br />

The purpose of these sessions is to provide an education forum specific to clinical research.<br />
