Kidney Clinic<br />

The Kidney Clinic is located at Royal Inl<strong>and</strong> Hospital in Kamloops <strong>and</strong> is affiliated with the B.C. Renal<br />

Agency (http://www.bcrenalagency.ca/kidneysvcs/KidneyServicesRegion/InteriorHealth/chronicClinics.<br />

htm). It conducts Phase III trials on patients undergoing hemodialysis <strong>and</strong> others with end stage renal<br />

disease.<br />

The main investigator is Dr. ECR Wijeyesinghe.<br />

Penticton Regional Hospital Research Department<br />

Investigators at the Penticton Regional Hospital Research Department conduct Phases II <strong>and</strong> IV industry-sponsored<br />

<strong>and</strong> grant funded clinical trials in cardiology, neurology, nephrology, gynecology, pediatrics,<br />

oncology, rheumatology. The department has no separate URL. Investigators include:<br />

The hospital laboratory is used for clinical trials; the pharmacy is rarely required.<br />

Study approval involves a review by the In-Hospital Research Committee for operational impact. Once<br />

this Committee approves the study, it is sent to the Interior Health REB for approval. As per REB <strong>and</strong><br />

sponsor requirements, all studies comply with Health Canada, FDA, <strong>and</strong> ICH GCP regulations <strong>and</strong> guidelines.<br />
