Ridge Meadows Hospital Ridge Meadows Hospital has been actively participating in clinical research for 20 years (http://research. fraserhealth.ca/clinical_trials/clinical_trials_research_groups/). Beginning with the GUSTO trial early in the thrombolytic era to the present research involving thrombin receptor antagonists and novel heart failure therapies, cardiac research has been the main focus at the site. Other research topics have included antibiotics in pneumonia, asthma and COPD. CLINICAL TRIALS AND PRECLINICAL INFRASTRUCTURE ASSET MAP 69 INTERIOR HEALTH AUTHORITY Kidney Clinic The Kidney Clinic is located at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops and is affiliated with the B.C. Renal Agency (http://www.bcrenalagency.ca/kidneysvcs/KidneyServicesRegion/InteriorHealth/chronicClinics. htm). It conducts Phase III trials on patients undergoing hemodialysis and others with end stage renal disease. The main investigator is Dr. ECR Wijeyesinghe. Contact: Pennington, Carrie Mae. Manager. Penticton Regional Hospital Research Department Investigators at the Penticton Regional Hospital Research Department conduct Phases II and IV industry-sponsored and grant funded clinical trials in cardiology, neurology, nephrology, gynecology, pediatrics, oncology, rheumatology. The department has no separate URL.
