A non-profit, professional organization dedicated to the continuing education <strong>and</strong><br />

development of clinical research professionals. It offers courses <strong>and</strong> workshops in subjects<br />

such as:<br />

• GCP<br />

• <strong>Trials</strong> management<br />

• SOPs<br />

• Monitoring<br />

• Legal, Ethical <strong>and</strong> Practical Considerations in Protecting Human Research Participants.<br />

WRTC is an innovative <strong>and</strong> collaborative initiative that supports the postgraduate training<br />

of applied health services researchers across disciplines, sectors, <strong>and</strong> institutions,<br />

equipping them to address the research needs of a wide range of health care policy <strong>and</strong><br />

decision-makers. Relevant courses include:<br />

• Health Care Research Methods<br />

• Epidemiology of Health Care<br />

WRTC is based at six universities in western Canada: University of Alberta, UBC, University<br />

of Calgary, University of Manitoba, University of Regina, <strong>and</strong> University of Saskatchewan.<br />

Graduate students (Masters or PhD) may participate in the program as full students or as<br />

affiliate students.<br />
