Other Public <strong>Clinical</strong> <strong>Trials</strong> Support <strong>Infrastructure</strong><br />
B.C. contains a great deal of additional public infrastructure to support clinical trials. This is summarized<br />
below <strong>and</strong> detailed in Appendices 8 – 10.<br />
Biorepositories<br />
Because of its public health system <strong>and</strong> Province-wide tertiary care clinics, B.C. has an exceptional stateof-the-art<br />
collection of appropriately consented tissues, blood, DNA, other molecular data, images, <strong>and</strong><br />
protected clinical information. Tissues are available from patients with cancer, cardiovascular or pulmonary<br />
disease, <strong>and</strong> from those who have undergone organ transplantation or have donated organs. A<br />
brief description of the Province’s six biorepositories can be found in Table 7.<br />
