BUS 305. PRINCIPLES OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT<br />
Three hours credit<br />
A study of the managerial process which emphasizes the management functions of planning,<br />
organizing, decision-making, and controlling with an integration of the concepts of the<br />
behavioral sciences as applied to managing people in organizations.<br />
BUS 307. BUSINESS FINANCE<br />
Three hours credit<br />
A study of the nature and scope of business finance. Emphasis is on sources and costs of<br />
short-term and long-term financing, financial analysis and interpretation, capital budgeting,<br />
and the cost of capital. Prerequisite: ACC 242 and BUS 341.<br />
BUS 341. BUSINESS STATISTICS<br />
Three hours credit<br />
A study of statistical analysis and business decision theory. The topics covered include<br />
decision making under uncertainty, sampling, probability concepts, statistical inference, classical<br />
statistical decision theory, and the economics of decision rules. Prerequisite: MAT 111<br />
or 121.<br />
BUS 345. QUANTITATIVE METHODS<br />
Three hours credit<br />
A further study of statistical and quantitative techniques used in business decision-making.<br />
Quantitative techniques and business applications include but are not limited to the following:<br />
hypothesis testing, forecasting, linear programming, PERT, CPM, queuing models,<br />
and inventory models. Prerequisite: BUS 341. MAT 342 recommended. Offered Fall Semester.<br />
BUS 351. BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS<br />

A study of the principles, practices, and mechanics of writing effective business letters<br />
and reports. Prerequisite: ENG 110.<br />
BUS 353. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS<br />
Three hours credit<br />
A study of the special problems involved in doing business across national boundaries,<br />
with emphasis on the economic basis for trade and the impact of religious, cultural, and political<br />
environment on business practice. Includes an evaluation of the management, marketing,<br />
and financial practices of multinational corporations from a Christian perspective.<br />
BUS 399. HONORS INDEPENDENT STUDY<br />
One–four hours credit<br />
An independent study supervised by three faculty members which provides the student<br />
who qualifies under the honors guidelines the opportunity to pursue a special topic of his /her<br />
choice.<br />
BUS 409. PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING<br />
Three hours credit<br />
A study of the principles and methods of marketing including the activities utilized in the<br />
movement of goods and services from producer to consumer while addressing governmental<br />
and consumer relationships. The course investigates the processes of product development,<br />
promotion, distribution, and pricing.<br />
BUS 420. ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR<br />
Three hours credit<br />
Emphasis is placed on the importance of work, process and content theories of motivation,<br />
job satisfaction, organizational structure, organizational climate, social systems, and<br />
quality of work life. Prerequisite: BUS 305 or permission of instructor. Offered Fall Semester.<br />
BUS 432. BUSINESS ETHICS<br />
Three hours credit<br />
Application of basic Christian principles to modern standard business practices.<br />
Emphasis will be placed on ethical decision-making in the business arena. The course is<br />
taught jointly by faculty from the School of Religion.
