MUS 391. VOCAL LITERATURE<br />
Two hours credit<br />
A survey of the art song in Western music from 1600 to the present. Attention is given to<br />
style and analysis in a historical frame. Religious solo vocal music appropriate for formal<br />
worship ceremonies will also be covered. Offered Fall Semester.<br />
MUS 392. KEYBOARD LITERATURE<br />
Two hours credit<br />
A course designed to enlarge the student’s knowledge of keyboard literature with an<br />
emphasis on the literature that features his/her applied major instrument. Offered Spring Semester,<br />
odd years.<br />
MUS 393. SYMPHONIC LITERATURE<br />
Two hours credit<br />
A course designed to enlarge the student’s knowledge of symphonic literature with an<br />
emphasis on the literature that features his/her applied major instrument. Offered Spring<br />

Study and performance of choral literature with emphasis on standard classical choral<br />
repertoire. Concerts given each semester. Membership by audition only. Open to all students.<br />

MUS 101-102. CC - CAMPUS CHOIR<br />
One hour credit<br />
Study and performance of a wide variety of sacred choral literature of the worship tradition<br />
and in a worship setting. Open to all students by audition. A minimum 3 hours of<br />
rehearsal per week.<br />
MUS 101-102. CH - CHAPEL CHOIR<br />
One hour credit<br />
Open to all students. No audition is required. One rehearsal per week. Performances are<br />
in chapel and local churches only.<br />
MUS 101-102 . CU - CHORAL UNION<br />
One hour credit<br />
Study and performance of major choral master works as well as newly composed works<br />
for festival chorus. Open to music majors, general university students, and members of the<br />
local community with the consent of the instructor. One major concert each semester. One<br />
rehearsal per week.<br />
MUS 101-101. EV - EVANGELISTIC SINGERS<br />
One hour credit<br />
Study and performance of a wide variety of sacred choral literature ranging from the<br />
Negro Spiritual to traditional and contemporary Black Gospel settings. Admission by audition.<br />
A minimum 3 hours of rehearsal per week.<br />

Training and performance in choral music for treble voices. Various performances each<br />
semester. Open to all female students by audition. A minimum 3 hours of rehearsal per week.<br />

Study and performance of a wide range of choral literature. One major tour each semester<br />
in addition to other off-campus appearances. Membership by audition only. Open to all students.<br />

Experience in the practical application of musical and dramatic preparation and performance<br />
of opera within a workshop format. Open to all students (performance roles and chorus<br />
by audition only).<br />
MUS 101-102. VL - VOICES OF LEE<br />
One hour credit<br />
A 16-voice ensemble designed to study and perform a variety of a cappella, jazz and contemporary<br />
choral stylings—both sacred and secular. A minimum of 5 hours rehearsal per<br />
week with extensive off-campus performances. Membership by audition.
