A study of the Christian Church from the apostles to the present age. Special emphasis<br />

will be given to the major reform movements of the church.<br />

EVA 161. PERSONAL EVANGELISM<br />

Two hours credit<br />

A study of the basic principles of personal evangelism. Special attention is given to the<br />

particular problems confronted in personal soul-winning. Considerable Scripture memorizing<br />

is required.<br />

EVA 363. CONTEMPORARY EVANGELISM<br />

Three hours credit<br />

A study of contemporary concepts of evangelism related to the local church while reaffirming<br />

the biblical foundations and mastering personal witnessing. Emphasis is placed on<br />

the major strategies for evangelism such as network, small groups, prayer, home visitation,<br />

cross-cultural, and media usage.<br />

ISP 250. INTRODUCTION TO MISSIONS<br />

An introduction to the world mission of the church including its biblical and theological<br />

foundations, historical development, cultural perspectives, and present practices.<br />

ISP 253. PRINCIPLES OF CHURCH GROWTH<br />

Three hours credit<br />

A survey of the theological, sociological, and statistical dimensions of the church growth<br />

movement as they relate to evangelism, church development, and Christian Education.<br />

ISP 254. HISTORY OF MISSIONS<br />

Three hours credit<br />

A history of Christian missions, including that of the Church of God.<br />

ISP 262. FOUNDATIONS FOR INTERCULTURAL MINISTRY Three hours credit<br />

A structural multicultural learning experience which involves the intentional crossing of<br />

cultural, ideological, racial, language, gender, and other borders in an effort to understand<br />

“otherness” in its own terms.<br />

ISP 320. URBAN MINISTRIES<br />

Two hours credit<br />

A study of the problems and opportunities related to the church in the modern city,<br />

including urban characteristics, the church and social service agencies, and implications for<br />

church growth and church planting.<br />
