COUNSELING, TESTING & CAREER EXPLORATION<br />

This office at <strong>Lee</strong> <strong>University</strong> has developed services to help students<br />

deal more effectively with themselves as part of the university experience.<br />

Students and their families, faculty, staff and administrators are<br />

served by this component of the Student Life sector.<br />

Counseling<br />

A professional staff with training and experience offers counseling for<br />

a wide variety of needs. Counseling is by appointment and is confidential.<br />

For issues of a more serious psychological nature students may be<br />

referred to other agencies.<br />

Testing<br />

The Office of Counseling and Testing coordinates a comprehensive<br />

standardized testing program designed to assist students in knowing<br />

more about themselves. Individual testing for counseling purposes is<br />

also available in the Counseling and Testing Center.<br />

Testing services are provided for the <strong>Lee</strong> <strong>University</strong> community<br />

through this office. We serve as a national testing center for ACT and<br />

the Miller Analogies Test.<br />

Personality and career testing is also available.<br />

Registration materials are also available for the following national tests:<br />

• Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)<br />

• Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)<br />

• Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)<br />

• Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST)<br />

• National Teacher’s Exam (NTE)<br />

Career Exploration<br />

This office will assist the student in career endeavors by offering<br />

seminars, interest inventories and individual counseling. Graduating<br />

seniors may activate a personal file with reference letters, an unofficial<br />

copy of their transcript, and a resume to be used in their job search.<br />

For students who desire to work while attending school, a job board<br />

listing local part-time and full-time positions is available on-line<br />

through the school’s website.<br />

Pastors, school officials, and others desiring the services of college<br />

graduates are encouraged to report vacancies to the appropriate university<br />

personnel, and available persons may be recommended.<br />

Exploration is an annual career and graduate studies fair, occurring<br />

in the spring semester. The fair offers students and alumni an opportunity<br />

to network with prospective employers and graduate schools.
