Drama<br />

The student minoring in Drama shall complete a minimum of eighteen<br />

hours including DRA 211 Introduction to Acting, DRA 212<br />

Intermediate Acting, DRA 450 Directing, DRA 451 Advanced<br />

Directing, and six hours of electives chosen from the following courses:<br />

DRA 320 Stage Make-up or 331 Survey of Drama Literature and<br />

Theater History I, DRA 352 Advanced Acting or 332 Survey of Drama<br />

Literature and Theater History II.<br />

Drama Ministry<br />

The student minoring in Drama Ministry shall complete a minimum<br />

of eighteen hours including DRA 211 Introduction to Acting, DRA 212<br />

Intermediate Acting, DRA 251 Concepts of Drama Ministry, DRA 352<br />

Advanced Acting, DRA 450 Directing, and three hours of electives chosen<br />

from the following courses: DRA 451 Advanced Directing, DRA 320<br />

Stage Make-up, and DRA 260 Sketchwriting for Ministry.<br />

Art<br />

ART 111. ART APPRECIATION<br />

Two hours credit<br />

An introduction to the visual arts of the Western World with an emphasis on the art of<br />

the twentieth century and the relationship of art to our society.<br />

ART 191. BEGINNING DRAWING<br />

Three hours credit<br />

A beginning drawing class open to students at all levels. Students will learn the basic<br />

techniques of drawing using a variety of dry media. Emphasis will be on developing creativity<br />

and individual styles. Students will be responsible for providing their own materials for outof-class<br />

assignments.<br />

ART 192. ADVANCED DRAWING<br />

Three hours credit<br />

A continuation of Beginning Drawing. Students will experiment with advanced techniques<br />

of drawing using a variety of dry media. Emphasis will be on developing creativity and<br />

individual styles. Individual projects and independent studies will be assigned based on student<br />

interests and goals. Students will be responsible for providing their own materials for<br />

out-of-class assignments. Prerequisite: ART 191 or its equivalent.<br />

ART 211. LANDSCAPE OF ART<br />

Two hours credit<br />

A combination of the study of aesthetics and studio work. Class will meet twice weekly.<br />

One session will be a one-hour study of landscapes as created by great artists of the past. The<br />

second session will be a two-hour studio class where students will create landscapes in the<br />

medium of their choice. Subject matter will be derived from a combination of class discussion<br />

and personal observation. Students will be responsible for providing their own materials.<br />

Prerequisite: Sophomore or above or with teacher approval.<br />

ART 213. WATERCOLOR PAINTING<br />

Three hours credit<br />

A studio class where students will study the fundamentals of watercolor painting.<br />

Various skills and techniques will be taught such as paper preparation, dry brush,<br />

wet–on–wet, mixed media and matting of finished paintings. This class will culminate with<br />

a student display on campus. Students will be responsible for providing their own materials.<br />

Prerequisite: ART 191 or equivalent.<br />

ART 214. ADVANCED WATERCOLOR PAINTING<br />

Three hours credit<br />

A studio class where students will study advanced concepts of watercolor painting.<br />

Various skills and techniques will be taught such as paper preparation, dry brush,
