Planning with LDA/LDC4.2 System componentsNoteExpansion compensationDue to heat dissipation at rated load, the busbars in the trunking unit expand. Tocompensate this expansion in length, you need to include expansion compensation units atdefined intervals when planning your horizontal installation.In the case of vertical installation, each trunking unit features expansion compensation.When planning expansion compensation for trunking units, please remember:• A straight trunking run without expansion compensation between two junction units mustnot exceed 10 m in length.• A straight trunking run between a junction unit and the end cap must not exceed 25 m inlength. In the case of longer trunking run lengths, planning provision has to be madeaccordingly for expansion compensation units.123BoltExpansion compensationHookTrunking unit with expansion compensationTap-off pointsTap-off points are only possible on straight trunking units (both standard lengths and optionallengths possible). Options are:● Tap-off point on TOP: ...-AD● Tap-off point BOTTOM: ...-ADU● Tap-off points on TOP and BOTTOM: ...-ADO+UWith a trunking unit with a tap-off point at the TOP and BOTTOM, only one tap-off unit canbe used at a time. Planning with LDA/LDC4.2 System componentsThe required type should be determined during engineering, based on the mounting positionof the busbar.In the case of optional trunking units with tap-off point, a minimum clearance of 0.6 m isrequired between the end of the busbar and a tap-off point.A coding bracket is located on both sides of a tap-off point.
