Planning with LXA/LXC5.2 System components5.2.8 Connection unit for non-Siemens distribution boardsIf you wish to connect the busbar trunking system to a non-Siemens distribution board, youcan establish this connection using an LX connection unit for non-Siemens distributionboards .... . The connection unit is built into the distribution board and serves as an interfaceto the copper connections of the distribution system.VersionsCopper conductors are usually used for connection units for non-Siemens distributionboards. Depending on system type, a total of eight different conductor configurations areavailable for selection. The rated currents up to a maximum of 5000 A correspond to thedata in the Technical data section. In accordance with DIN EN 60439-1 and -2, thetemperature limit in distribution systems in the event of heat rise must not be exceeded bythe current heat. The temperature limit of the bars, which are enclosed in insulating material,is 135°C. The required conductor cross sections for the copper connections are also listed inthe Technical data section.Installing the connection unitThe connections in the distribution board must be copper-plated by the board manufactureror in compliance with that manufacturer's specifications. The board manufacturer mustensure that the required short-circuit rating is achieved and the permissible temperature limitof the non-Siemens connection unit is not exceeded.Figure 5-3Connection unit for non-Siemens distribution boardsPlanning with SIVACON 8 PSPlanning Manual, 10/2007, A5E01541101-01 159
