Tourism Oltenia – ATOIt is an NGO, non-p<strong>ro</strong>fit that aims to p<strong>ro</strong>mote tourism in the Oltenia region both nationally and at internationallevel in partnership with tourism operators and local <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>velopment actors It was foun<st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>d in 2004 at theinitiative of a g<strong>ro</strong>up of representatives of county institutions and organizations interested in <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>veloping tourismsector in the region and in Dolj County: Regional Development Agency South West Oltenia, the Chamber ofCommerce and Industry Olt, Gorj Rescue Service , Travel Agency “Mapamond” in Craiova.The main objectives which it has p<strong>ro</strong>posed are Oltenia Tourism Association, are as follows:• Elaboration of a structured database on all categories of tourism in Oltenia (mountain, rural, wine,spa, historic, ecumenical, cultural, educational, recreational, hunting and fishing, nature reserves andmonuments, caving, etc..) based on analysis of existing infrastructure;• funds, government and loans on favorable terms;• accessing funds for training staff involved in tourism activities, elaboration of p<strong>ro</strong>motional materialsand necessary equipment;• creation of regional centers of tourist information, including <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>tails of tour operators and organizationsinvolved in tourism activities, the hotels, motels, guesthouses, restaurants, recreational areas, the huntingand fishing areas, walking trails, services rental car / boat / sports equipment, etc.;• stimulate local authorities involvement in the capitalization of existing traditions in each locality, withtheir <strong>ro</strong>le in <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>velopment;• Involving local authorities in <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>de</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>velopment of adjacent infrastructure (<strong>ro</strong>ads, utilities, telecommunications,medical, rescue, sanitation) to conduct a civilized and
