<strong>The</strong> chart recording is read from right to left and the brown tracing shows the levels <strong>of</strong> flow calibrations<br />

in mls/min. <strong>The</strong> calibrations are worked out on the sheet.<br />

Mouth pressure.<br />

o Open the rotameter needle valve.<br />

o Ensure all connections are tight.<br />

o Switch on the pressure generator (small black sliding switch, right hand side).<br />

o Tero the display with the small black screw on the left hand side front panel <strong>of</strong> the<br />

pressure generator.<br />

o Z.ero calibration: connect the line from the pressure generator to the test point <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Medex pressure transducer and ensure that it is secure - zero the pressure generator using<br />

the wheel in the centre <strong>of</strong> the generator - zero the pressure monitor gauge making sure the<br />

needle is on the zero <strong>of</strong> the scale -<br />

record the zero level on the chart record.<br />
