that are cast into reinforced concrete ribs, as illustrated in Figure 4.83. The lens light can
be prefabricated and bedded in place on site, or it can be cast in situ. Although light transmission
is poor, these rooflights are used primarily to provide resistance to fire, to improve
security and to reduce sound transmission through the roof.
