sealant joint is made between the square edges of uniform width joints by ramming a<br />

backing strip of closed cell polyethylene into the joint as support and backing for the mastic<br />

sealant. The mastic sealant is run into the joint from a hand or power operated gun. The<br />

sealant is finished with a tool to provide a concave surface for the sake of appearance in<br />

keeping the mastic from the panel face, as illustrated in Figure 7.38.
