Inspections and maintenance<br />

Appropriate safety inspections must be carried out, similar to those outlined for scaffolding<br />

systems. In situations where the works are prolonged, metal support systems are susceptible<br />

to rusting and may lose their loadbearing properties.<br />

Slight movement of the façade is to be expected; thus the retained façade must be monitored<br />

for the duration of the works. If movement of the wall is detected and/or cracks<br />

develop in the fabric, investigation should be carried out to ensure that the wall is still
