WILDERSTEIN PRESERVATION, INC.<br />

The personal papers <strong>of</strong> Miss Margaret Suckley were being processed during <strong>the</strong> course <strong>of</strong> this project.<br />

Several conversations with Duane Watson, President <strong>of</strong> Wilderstein, indicated that material relating to <strong>the</strong><br />

acquisition <strong>of</strong> Hyde <strong>Park</strong> by <strong>the</strong> government had not been found to date.<br />

WINTERTHUR MUSEUM AND LIBRARY<br />

The Herter Bro<strong>the</strong>rs Papers in <strong>the</strong> Joseph Downs Collection <strong>of</strong> Manuscripts includes <strong>the</strong> late records <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Herter Bro<strong>the</strong>rs Firm. There are ledgers, journals and bills relating to Herter Bro<strong>the</strong>rs work at Hyde<br />

<strong>Park</strong>. A collection <strong>of</strong> proscriptive literature on household management for <strong>the</strong> Gilded Age was useful. No<br />

relevant personal papers <strong>of</strong> Ruth Wales DuPont were located, nor were <strong>the</strong>re any references in Henry<br />

Francis DuPont's personal papers to visits to Hyde <strong>Park</strong>.<br />

WORCESTER HISTORICAL MUSEUM<br />

The museum maintains a very small collection <strong>of</strong> Norcross Bro<strong>the</strong>rs memorabilia: a prospectus, a printed<br />

project list, an announcement for a change in <strong>the</strong> company's name, and assorted newspaper clippings.<br />

ZUBER, NEW YORK<br />

The showroom <strong>of</strong> Zuber in New York was visited in <strong>the</strong> hope <strong>of</strong> determining if <strong>the</strong>y were <strong>the</strong> makers <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> second floor guest room papers. The large collection <strong>of</strong> books documenting <strong>the</strong> papers, many <strong>of</strong><br />

which are still in production, could not be consulted. The receptionist declared that <strong>the</strong> papers were not<br />

by Zuber.<br />
