Business Opportunities<br />

There are 11 Business Opportunities (BOs) identified under NKEA<br />

Agriculture to generate RM 2.8 billion of GNI in 2020 and creating<br />

14,840 jobs.<br />

To date, the Ministry of Agriculture has yet to transform the<br />

BOs into EPPs as the focus for the first year is on the successful<br />

implementation of the 16 EPPs.<br />

The <strong>ETP</strong> listed five key enablers to support the implementation of<br />

the EPPs and BOs:<br />

1. Provide incentives for anchor companies<br />

2. Strengthen the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)<br />

and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to enhance market<br />

access<br />

3. Change regulations and policies<br />

4. Strengthen logistics infrastructure<br />

5. Ensure sufficient pipeline of human capital<br />

Food Facilities<br />

PEMANDU and the MoA have continually worked towards<br />

setting up the mechanism to provide incentives for the anchor<br />

companies under selected EPPs to ensure the participation of<br />

the private sectors. Presently, the Ministry is in discussion to<br />

enforce the other enablers and proceed into implementation<br />

stage in 2012.<br />
