VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
General Information
Vocational School of Social Sciences has been opened in 1975,
dependent to the Ministry of Education under the name of Mersin
Vocational School. In 1982, with the Decree Law No. 41 it was
included in the scope of Çukurova University. In 1992, it was
affiliated to Mersin University with Law No. 3837 and continued
education and training under the name of Mersin Vocational
School Economics and Administrative Programs until 2005.
Upon the decision of the senate dated 08.02.2005 and numbered
2005/14, The Higher Education Board and at The Higher
Education General Assembly meeting with the decision of Law
No. 2547, Law No. 2880, in accordance with the amended article
7 / d-2, with the acceptance of the proposal on 06.05.2005, Social
Sciences Vocational School provides training on 9 (nine) formal,
9 (nine) evening education in a total of 18 programs. Considering
the Vocational and Technical Secondary Education programs by
the Council of Higher Education, and by editing the Vocational
and Technical Secondary Education programs by the Council
of Higher Education, programs in our Vocational School such
as ISCED’97 and ISCO’88 have been renamed according to the
international education field and occupation classifications.

Office Management and Executive Assistant (Daytime
Education - Evening Education)
Office Services and Secretarial Department Office Management
and Executive Assistant Program started formal education
under the name of Office Management and Secretariat Program
in Mersin Vocational School, Department of Economics and
Administrative Programs in the 1993-1994 Academic Year, and in
2006-2007 academic year, it started evening education by taking
students with additional quota. Since the 2010-2011 academic
year, it continues its activities under the name of Office Services
and Secretariat Department.
The aim of the program is to train Office Management and Executive
Assistant Professional Staff who can use effective communication
techniques and time effectively and help managers to fulfill their
duties and responsibilities. The courses that have the qualifications
to fulfill the professional qualification criteria in our program were
determined and put in four semesters. Considering the change
