VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES<br />
General Information<br />
Vocational School of Social Sciences has been opened in 1975,<br />
dependent to the Ministry of Education under the name of <strong>Mersin</strong><br />
Vocational School. In 1982, with the Decree Law No. 41 it was<br />
included in the scope of Çukurova <strong>University</strong>. In 1992, it was<br />
affiliated to <strong>Mersin</strong> <strong>University</strong> with Law No. 3837 and continued<br />
education and training under the name of <strong>Mersin</strong> Vocational<br />
School Economics and Administrative Programs until 2005.<br />
Upon the decision of the senate dated 08.02.2005 and numbered<br />
2005/14, The Higher Education Board and at The Higher<br />
Education General Assembly meeting with the decision of Law<br />
No. 2547, Law No. 2880, in accordance with the amended article<br />
7 / d-2, with the acceptance of the proposal on 06.05.2005, Social<br />
Sciences Vocational School provides training on 9 (nine) formal,<br />
9 (nine) evening education in a total of 18 programs. Considering<br />
the Vocational and Technical Secondary Education programs by<br />
the Council of Higher Education, and by editing the Vocational<br />
and Technical Secondary Education programs by the Council<br />
of Higher Education, programs in our Vocational School such<br />
as ISCED’97 and ISCO’88 have been renamed according to the<br />
international education field and occupation classifications.<br />

and Executive Assistant Program started formal education<br />
under the name of Office Management and Secretariat Program<br />
in <strong>Mersin</strong> Vocational School, Department of Economics and<br />
Administrative Programs in the 1993-1994 Academic Year, and in<br />
2006-2007 academic year, it started evening education by taking<br />
students with additional quota. Since the 2010-2011 academic<br />
year, it continues its activities under the name of Office Services<br />
and Secretariat Department.<br />
The aim of the program is to train Office Management and Executive<br />
Assistant Professional Staff who can use effective communication<br />
techniques and time effectively and help managers to fulfill their<br />
duties and responsibilities. The courses that have the qualifications<br />
to fulfill the professional qualification criteria in our program were<br />
determined and put in four semesters. Considering the change<br />
