General Information<br />
<strong>Mersin</strong> <strong>University</strong> Faculty of Medicine was established with the additional article 10 added to the Law on the<br />
Organization of Higher Education Institutions numbered 2809 with article 25 of the law number 3837 dated<br />
03.07.1992 and started its activities with the appointment of the founding dean on 17.04.1998 and started<br />
education in the 1998-1999 academic year.Our faculty, which gave its first graduates in the academic year of 2003-<br />
2004, has graduated more than 1600 physicians since its establishment.<br />
The purpose of our faculty; to train modern, investigative and questioning physicians equipped with high level<br />
knowledge, skills and attitudes, who practice their profession by observing ethical and deontological rules, aiming<br />
lifelong learning, knowing the health problems of their country.<br />
In addition to traditional applied medical education, our faculty maintains a system-based integrated education<br />
program that includes evidence-based medicine and community-based medicine practices, professional skills,<br />
communication skills, and active training sessions based on problem-based learning sessions in accordance with<br />
the changes and developments in the world. In our system, which gives importance to a holistic approach to the<br />
patient, the normal structure and functions of the human organism in the first two years, and the structure and<br />
function disorders are studied in an integrated manner in the third year.
