Department of Foreign Trade (First Education-Evening Education)<br />

Foreign Trade (First Education-Evening Education) Foreign Trade<br />

Department Foreign Trade Program, in the 1993-1994 Academic<br />

Year, started formal education in <strong>Mersin</strong> Vocational School,<br />

Department of Economics and Administrative Programs, under<br />

the name of Customs Business Program, and in the 2006-2007<br />

academic year, it started evening education by taking students with<br />

additional quota. Since the 2010-2011 academic year, it continues<br />

its activities under the name of Foreign Trade Department.<br />

The aim of the program is to train Foreign Trade Professional<br />

Staff in the fields they need who can use effective communication<br />

techniques in foreign trade, export, import, foreign trade<br />

accounting, foreign exchange and customs clearance of enterprises<br />

operating at national and international level etc. Considering<br />

the change requests from external stakeholders and internal<br />

stakeholders, necessary changes are made on lesson plans in order<br />

to meet the needs of the day.<br />

Our graduates are employed as in charge of import operations,<br />

in charge of export operations, in charge of customs clearance,<br />

etc. in foreign trade companies. They can take part in customs<br />

clearance departments of Customs Consultancy firms. They can<br />

work in logistics companies. With the KPSS exam they can work<br />

as a Customs Enforcement Officer and Customs Inspection officer<br />

in Customs Directorates.<br />

Accounting and Tax<br />

Accounting and Tax Applications (Daytime and Evening Education)<br />

Accounting and Tax Applications Program started formal<br />

education and later secondary education under the name of<br />

Accounting Program in <strong>Mersin</strong> Vocational School Department<br />

of Economics and Administrative Programs in 1978. In the same<br />

period, our school got separated from <strong>Mersin</strong> Vocational School<br />

under the name of Social Sciences Vocational School. Since the<br />

2010-2011 Academic Year, the Accounting and Tax Department<br />

has been continuing its education activities under the name of<br />

Accounting and Tax Applications Program.<br />

The purpose of the Accounting and Tax Applications program<br />

is to record the transactions that occur in businesses that can be<br />

expressed in money, and to ensure that the results are determined<br />

and interpreted.<br />

The graduates of the program work in Certified Public Accountant<br />

and Certified Public Accountant offices. In addition, they can<br />

work as accounting staff in many businesses such as insurance<br />

companies, tourism, construction and industrial enterprises.<br />

Our graduates have the right to complete a license in related fields<br />

by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam.<br />

Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services<br />

Tourism and Hotel Management (Primary Education-Evening<br />

Education)<br />

Tourism Hotel Management Program has been accepting students<br />

since 1978. Students are admitted to Formal and Evening Education<br />

programs during the ÖSYM examination system. Candidates<br />

who have completed their associate degree education have the<br />

right to enroll in undergraduate programs or AÖF undergraduate<br />

programs, provided that they get a valid grade in the DGS exam.<br />

Program students attend professional practice courses and<br />

administrative courses during their education. The students of the<br />

Tourism and Hotel Management Department become effective<br />

of hospitality management, human resources management,<br />

marketing and international marketing, hotel accounting, tourism<br />

law, knowledge about project marketing issues, and makes them<br />

effective in principled professional issues and interdisciplinary<br />
