VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES<br />
was opened within the framework of the Industrial Education<br />
Project, and due to problems such as physical facilities and the<br />
creation of a laboratory, it received students as formal education<br />
under the name of Control Systems Technology in the 1994-1995<br />
academic year, and laboratories were established within the scope<br />
of the YÖK-World Bank Project in the same year. In the 1998-1999<br />
academic year, students were accepted to the evening education of<br />
this department. In 2000, a joint study was carried out with the<br />
cooperation of MoNE and YÖK, curriculum was changed in line<br />
with the developing technology and at the same time, the name<br />
of the department was changed to Industrial Automation. Since<br />
2010, it has been continuing its education and training under the<br />
title of Electronics and Automation Department under the name<br />
of Control and Automation Technology Program.<br />
5. Food Processing Department<br />
a. Food Technology Food Processing Department was established<br />
in 2008 as a part of Technical Sciences Vocational School. It<br />
started education in the 2008-2009 academic year. Students who<br />
graduate from the Food Technology program with an Associate<br />
Degree gain the title of “Food Technician”. Registration to the<br />
Food Technology Program is made without an examination<br />
from the relevant departments of vocational high schools and<br />
with MF score in the “Measurement, Selection and Placement<br />
Center” (ÖSYM) exam. In this program, theoretical and practical<br />
education is given at the level of two-year associate degree. In<br />
small, medium and large scale enterprises that produce all kinds<br />
of food, necessary intermediate technical personnel are trained to<br />
work at every stage of production and quality control, from raw<br />
materials to final products. Students who successfully complete<br />
all of the courses available in the program (equivalent to a total<br />
of 120 ECTS) and who have at least 2.0 weighted average over<br />
4.00 can graduate. In addition, they can make horizontal and<br />
vertical transfers in line with the relevant legislation of the Higher<br />
Education Council (YÖK). Graduates of the program can find<br />
job opportunities in different fields of public institutions and<br />
organizations and food industry such as production, marketing,<br />
research-development and management.<br />
