ADVERTISING INFORMATION OF THE INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCES<br />
General Information<br />
The Institute of Health Sciences is located on the 3rd floor at Basic Medical Sciences Building of<br />
<strong>Mersin</strong> <strong>University</strong> Çiftlikköy Campus. Our institute has started graduate education activities<br />
since 1999. Graduate programs are conducted in 26 departments with a total of 116<br />
faculty members in our Institute. 6 administrative staff in our institute provides<br />
support to faculty members and students during the educational process.<br />
22 graduate, 3 interdisciplinary joint master’s and 17 doctoral programs<br />
that Turkish and foreign students can apply are open at our institute. In<br />
May 2020, there are 317 students, 205 of which are masters and 112 are<br />
doctorates. 18 of these are foreign students. Since its establishment, a total of<br />
1130 students, 933 masters and 197 doctorates, have successfully completed<br />
their postgraduate courses and thesis studies.<br />
Our students can turn to their own interests because of the rich elective courses<br />
available in postgraduate programs in their education and training processes. Our<br />
students can benefit from collaborative student mobility programs such as Erasmus,<br />
Farabi and Mevlana in their educational processes. In addition, they have open access to<br />
many databases that our university is a member of. Master’s and doctoral theses supported<br />
by Scientific Research Projects unit of <strong>Mersin</strong> <strong>University</strong>, Higher Education Institution<br />
scholarship etc. Moreover, graduate students can gain research competence by<br />
taking part in projects supported by national and international institutions and<br />
organizations run by thesis advisors.<br />
The office building of our institute’s is suitable for the use of students with<br />
disabilities, and can provide support to students who require a special approach<br />
through the Disabled Life Unit. In addition, thanks to<br />
the distance education platform of our university, all<br />
postgraduate programs are continued without disruption<br />
during the outbreak of new Coronavirus disease,<br />
including our country.<br />
