ONCOLOGY HOSPITAL<br />
The opening of our <strong>University</strong> Oncology Hospital was held on Friday, March 6, 2020, with the<br />
honor of our Vice President Fuat Oktay.<br />
Our 150-bed capacity Oncology Hospital, built on a closed area of 14,500 square meters, has been<br />
put into service not only to meet the needs of <strong>Mersin</strong> but also the surrounding provinces.<br />
<strong>Mersin</strong> <strong>University</strong> Oncology Hospital has a 14-bed intensive care unit, a 40-person Chemotherapy<br />
and Day Treatment Unit, separate hematology and oncology units for adults and children, related<br />
laboratories and other treatment units, and a 20-room patient relatives guesthouse.<br />
Our Oncology Hospital, where all units, including the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, actively<br />
operate, enables our patients to perform all treatment procedures under one roof.<br />
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çamsarı in his opening speech, emphasized the importance of<br />
<strong>Mersin</strong> <strong>University</strong> Oncology Hospital in terms of our city and region and said, “In our hospital, our<br />
citizens in <strong>Mersin</strong> and its surroundings will be provided with the best and latest devices in a location<br />
closest to them. In addition, <strong>Mersin</strong> <strong>University</strong> Oncology Hospital will become an important health<br />
center for patients coming from other regions and neighboring countries.”<br />
