e-Business Administration (e-MBA)
MBA (Master of Business Administration) refers to graduate education in
Business Administration. Our university accepts students for the Master
of Business Administration (e-Business Administration) program with
a distance education model. The Business Administration graduate
program, which accepted its first students in the 2009-2010 academic
year, generally includes courses such as finance, accounting, marketing,
human resources, organization management, information management,
and decision-making techniques. The aim of the e-Business non-thesis
Master’s Program based on distance education technique is to provide
students with an opportunity to specialize in basic business management,
independent of time and space, by taking advantage of the different
educational opportunities offered by information technologies. The
fact that the program is independent of time and place offers a suitable
alternative and creates demand for many people who cannot find the
opportunity to get a graduate degree due to their work hours or work
place. There is no interview application for student admission, and the
graduate entrance score is calculated by taking 40% of the undergraduate
graduation grade average (converted to an evaluation out of 100) and 60%
of the ALES equal weight score of the applicants. Students may only need
to come to the campus of our university for final exams (in the classes
where an in-class exam will be applied), and all other exams, assignments
and applications will be carried out over the internet.
ECDL
Our university is one of the authorized test centers of ECDL (European
Computer Driving License). ECDL Certificate, adopted in 138 countries
of the world and recognized as a universal criterion for computer
competencies by public institutions, private sector and international
organizations, is the world’s leading computer use competence certificate.
Within the scope of ECDL courses open to the personnel of Mersin
University as well as Mersin University students, and inhabitants of
Mersin, a 40-hour course program is implemented. The courses organized
for Core, CAD, Web Starter, Image Maker and Expert programs are
conducted in ten-person classrooms. In the program consisting of 7
sections covering theory and practice, the first section theoretically tests
the sum of knowledge at the general level, while the other sections consist
of a practical skill test. The candidate who successfully completes all the
sections is entitled to receive the ECDL Basic Certificate.
Education in Summer Semester
It is an educational program implemented during the summer holiday
in order to use the educational opportunities outside the fall and spring
semesters. The aim is to enable successful students to graduate in a shorter
period of time by taking courses from the following academic year, to
enable students to take courses that they could not take or fail due to various
reasons, and to increase the efficiency of education by eliminating student
accumulation in classes. The education period of the summer semester is
seven weeks excluding the exams. For each course opened in the summer
semester, the total number of lessons is the same as the ones taught in the
normal semesters. The courses to be opened in the summer semester are
determined by the request of the lecturer who gave the course in the normal
semester, the relevant department / department’s approval and the decision
of the relevant Faculty / School / Institute Board.
Minor and Double Major Program
Students who successfully carry out Mersin University undergraduate
programs have the opportunity to study in another branch of interest
(Minor Program) or to get a bachelor’s degree in a second branch
(Double Major Program). Minor and Double Major programs are
opened upon the proposal of the relevant department and the Faculty
/ School Board and the approval of the University Senate. Minor
program consists of at least 18 credits and double major program
consists of at least 36 credits. Both programs cover all the courses of
the related major (department / program) program.
Foreign Students
Foreign students are admitted to our university. Foreign students who
want to study at the undergraduate level can apply to our university
for registration with the result of the Foreign Students Exam (YÖS)
conducted by ÖSYM or the international examination accepted by
the Higher Education Council as the equivalent of Yös. Students who
want to study postgraduate should apply directly to our university.
Foreign students who wish to enroll in our university must be high
school or equivalent vocational school graduates and their diplomas
must be approved by the Ministry of Education. In addition, the
time for foreign students admitted to the programs whose language
of instruction is Turkish to start their education after enrollment
depends on the results obtained from the Turkish Test.
