BA 351 EL Arts and Nonprofit Marketing (1)<br />
A focus on practical applications in the marketing of the arts in today’s increasingly<br />
competitive economic environment. Designed to appeal to both artists and others who<br />
endeavor to work in marketing in non-profit organizations, a particular emphasis will be<br />
placed on understanding audiences/markets and building participation in organizational<br />
programs and services. An Experiential Learning and service-learning integrated course.<br />
BA 352 Digital Marketing (1)<br />
A survey of digital marketing strategy and implementation, designed for both business<br />
majors and others who aim to apply digital marketing in various fields. Building on a<br />
theoretical understanding, the course emphasizes the application of best practices in the<br />
areas of internet marketing, email marketing, search engine optimization, social media<br />
marketing, digital analytics, and mobile marketing.<br />
BA 363 Legal Environment of International Business (1)<br />
An examination of selected topics of the international legal environment as applied to<br />
businesses as they operate domestically and internationally. Emphasis will be on U.S.<br />
laws. The impact and interaction of foreign laws on U.S. businesses will be included.<br />
Prerequisites: BA 201 and at least sophomore standing.<br />
BA 372 QA Principles of Finance (1)<br />
An introductory course in the principles of financial analysis directed at developing the<br />
tools necessary for sound financial decision making. Major topics include an overview of<br />
the financial environment, valuation, financial forecasting, and capital budgeting.<br />
Laboratory required. A Quantitative Analysis designated course. Prerequisites: AC 221;<br />
EC 202; and MA 207, MA 231, or SBS 204.<br />
BA 375 Financial Markets, Institutions, and Business Cycles (1)<br />
A study of the development, purpose, and power of financial markets and the<br />
development and operation of their various institutions. The course will consider the<br />
nature of markets and how various financial institutions affect market performance.<br />
Prerequisite: EC 201.<br />
BA 398, 498 Teaching Experience in Business Administration (½)<br />
A course-based teaching experience that might include setting up and/or teaching<br />
laboratories and study sessions, assisting the instructor in creating or revising a course,<br />
collaborating with the instructor in preparation of examinations and other assignments<br />
and in the grading of these assignments, developing in-class activities, leading or<br />
facilitating class discussions, and preparing and delivering lecture or leading problem<br />
solving sessions. Further guidelines concerning teaching experiences appear in the<br />
“Teaching Experiences” section of this catalog. Prerequisites: approval of faculty sponsor<br />
and completion of the course for which the student is serving as a Teaching Fellow with a<br />
grade of “B” or higher.<br />
