EC 360 Time Series Visualization and Forecasting (1)<br />
A basic introduction to time series analysis in econometrics with an emphasis on<br />
economic data visualization and forecasting. The course covers time series regression,<br />
model identification/estimation/linear operators, and ARMA/ARIMA models. Laboratory<br />
required. Prerequisites: MA 207, SBS 204, or instructor approval. Offered every other<br />
year.<br />
EC 404 WR Econometrics (1)<br />
An application of statistical methods to the estimation of relationships among variables<br />
using statistical software. This course introduces extensions of the ordinary least squares<br />
regression method in theories and applications, including topics such as model<br />
specifications, functional forms, causal inference with observational data, problems<br />
associated with the estimation process, and estimation techniques dealing with different<br />
types of datasets. Laboratory required. A Writing Reinforcement designated course.<br />
Prerequisite: MA 207 or SBS 204. Fall.<br />
EC 425 Industrial Organization (1)<br />
An examination of the workings of markets and industries, in particular the way firms<br />
compete with each other. Topics include various industry structures, game theory, price<br />
discrimination and other pricing strategies, antitrust policy and vertical integration.<br />
Prerequisite: EC 202.<br />
EC 460 Senior Research Seminar in Economics (1)<br />
A seminar devoted to enhancing students’ ability to synthesize economic research and<br />
communicate that knowledge both orally and through writing. Should be taken in the fall<br />
term in preparation for EC 470 in the following spring term. Prerequisite: senior standing.<br />
Fall.<br />
EC 470 Senior Project in Economics (1)<br />
An independent research project that brings to bear the student’s accumulated knowledge<br />
and skills in economics. Students should initiate this project in the fall term of their senior<br />
year during the senior research seminar. Prerequisites: EC 460 and senior standing.<br />

ED 201 EL Introduction to Education (1)<br />
An overview of American education in both public and private settings. Students<br />
consider multiple aspects of education, including teaching as a profession, historical<br />
foundations of education, philosophical foundations of education, trends and issues in<br />
schools and teaching, issues of diversity and multicultural education, and the future of<br />
