Samford University campus. Students enrolling in Aerospace Studies courses must<br />

contact the Office of Academic Records to register.<br />

The program is divided into the General Military Course (GMC) and the Professional<br />

Officer Course (POC). The GMC includes first year and sophomore level courses and is<br />

open to all students without military obligation. The POC includes junior and senior level<br />

courses for those committed to service on active duty. Each course has a required<br />

leadership laboratory which includes study of Air and Space Force customs and<br />

courtesies, drill and ceremonies, and military commands. Uniforms and textbooks for<br />

all aerospace studies courses are provided at no charge.<br />

Minor Requirements<br />

The following courses are required (8 units):<br />

ASC 302<br />

ASC 401<br />

ASC 402<br />

The student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.000 or better and a minimum of 2.000 in<br />

all Aerospace Studies courses. No grade below a “C” will count towards the minor in<br />

Aerospace Studies. This must include at least two courses of the Aerospace Studies at the<br />

300-level and two courses of the Aerospace Studies at the 400-level. Air Force ROTC<br />

field training is required and may not waived. Students must also pass the leadership<br />

laboratory course associated with each course. Failure to successfully complete field<br />

training will prevent a student from earning the minor in Aerospace Studies.<br />

Army ROTC<br />

The Army ROTC is located on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus.<br />

Students at Birmingham-Southern College are eligible to participate under the<br />

Cooperative Exchange Program. Students must contact the Office of Academic Records<br />
