A course in the basic elements of tap dance. May be repeated for credit. Spring.<br />
DA 105 CE Introduction to Dance (1)<br />
An exploration of the four basic elements of all dance styles: the body, energy, space, and<br />
time. These elements will be examined through guided movement improvisations and<br />
basic foundation exercises for ballet, jazz, modern dance, and tap. A Creative Expression<br />
designated course.<br />

A study of principles and techniques of ballet. May be repeated for credit.<br />

An exploration of a selected topic or problem in economics.<br />
EC 201 CI Principles of Macroeconomics (1)<br />
A general introduction to economics with emphasis on macroeconomic aspects: national<br />
income determination, monetary and fiscal policy. A Community Interests designated<br />
course. Fall, Spring.<br />
EC 202 IA Principles of Microeconomics (1)<br />
A general introduction to economics with emphasis on microeconomic aspects: the<br />
economic principles underlying price, production, distribution of income, and related<br />
problems. An Interpretation or Analysis designated course. Fall, Spring.<br />
EC 280 The Economics of Poverty and Inequality (1)<br />
An investigation of the tools and methods economists use to analyze the causes and<br />
effects of poverty and income inequality. The course examines economic theories and<br />
relevant empirical findings, analyzes poverty-related data and measurements of poverty<br />
and inequality, and examines the effectiveness of public policies aimed at reducing<br />
poverty. A Poverty Studies designated course.<br />
EC 293, 393, 493 Independent Study in Economics (½ or 1)<br />
Directed study for advanced students in the major. One independent study course (at the<br />
300 level or above) may count towards the economics major. Specific guidelines<br />
