HON 350 IA Chaucer (1)<br />
A reading of the Canterbury Tales and other selected major poems of Chaucer in Middle<br />
English. Fulfills the pre-1900 requirement for the major. An Interpretation or Analysis<br />
designated course. (Also listed as EH 350.) Prerequisites: any 200-level literature course<br />
and Harrison Honors Program.<br />
HON 493 Honors Project (½ or 1)<br />
An independent study in preparation or completion of the Honors capstone. All Honors<br />
projects require a proposal, a faculty advisor, and the approval of the Harrison Honors<br />
Committee. The Honors Project typically begins the spring of the junior year or the fall of<br />
senior year. Honors projects entail one-on-one collaboration with faculty advisors and<br />
must be defended in public. HON 493 may be repeated with consent. Prerequisite:<br />
Harrison Honors Program.<br />

HRC 177, 277, 377, 477 Special Topics in Human Rights and Conflict Studies (1)<br />
An exploration of a selected topic or problem in human rights and conflict studies.<br />
HRC 200 CI, GP Introduction to Human Rights (1)<br />
A critical examination of human rights concepts and their practical applications from the<br />
perspective of a variety of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. A<br />
Community Interests, Global Perspectives, and Leadership Studies designated course.<br />
Prerequisite: at least sophomore standing.<br />
HRC 293, 393, 493 Independent Study in Human Rights and Conflict Studies (½ or<br />
1)<br />
Directed study for advanced students in the minor. Specific guidelines concerning<br />
independent study projects appear in the “Exploration Term and Contract Learning”<br />
section of this catalog.<br />
HRC 297, 397, 497 Internship in Human Rights and Conflict Studies (½ or 1)<br />
An internship opportunity allowing students to practice career skills and/or further<br />
develop abilities beneficial for graduate study. Specific guidelines concerning internships<br />
