holy vengeance and righteous anger against our sins
in the body of His Son. Sin had to be punished, and
Jesus took it all on Himself so you and I need not
bear the punishment.
On the cross, Jesus did not just take our sins; He
became sin so we might become the righteousness of
God in Him (2 Cor. 5:21). He also took our
infirmities and bore our sicknesses on His own body
(Isa. 53:4 YLT; Matt. 8:17). Every tumor, every
cancerous growth, every deformity, every
rheumatoid arthritis, every kind of disease, He took
upon Himself at the cross.
