Because you are in the presence of the Healer.
When God told the children of Israel, “I am the
LORD who heals you” (Ex. 15:26), He was
introducing Himself as Jehovah Rapha. He was not
saying, “I will give you healing” or “I will provide
you health.” He was saying I AM your healing, and I
AM your health. When you touch Jesus, you touch
healing. He does not give healing as though it were a
thing. He gives Himself.
There are many studies that claim to have found
the secret to longevity and health, and they tell you
all the things you need to eat and do if you want to
live long and stay healthy. I have nothing against
these studies and fully agree you should make
healthy food and lifestyle choices. But when your
well-being is dependent on things you need to do,
you will never be secure. Let your healing and
security be based, instead, on someone who never
fails, someone who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and
best of all, all-loving. That’s when you can have
security that is unshakable and peace unspeakable.
