Doesn’t Anna remind you of David, the young
shepherd boy who defeated the champion of the
Philistine army? David did not run away when
Goliath turned up. He got angry and demanded to
know “who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he
should defy the armies of the living God?” (1 Sam.
17:26). The other soldiers were cowed by the size of
their enemy. David was conscious only of how big
his God was. Look at what he said when he came
face-to-face with the giant:
“You come to me with a sword, with a spear,
and with a javelin. But I come to you in the
name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the
armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” (1
Sam. 17:45)
Beloved, if the enemy is trying to attack you
with symptoms, I pray you catch David’s spirit.
Don’t be afraid. Stand your ground and know that
the enemy has already been defeated. His weapons
might appear formidable to the world, but they are
no match for your God. This battle is not yours to
