How long will my enemy be exalted over me? (Ps. 13:1–2) God loves you and He cares for you. He knows the discouragement that overwhelms you when it feels like the enemy of sickness has had the upper hand over you for so long and God feels so far away. He isn’t shocked when you express such thoughts. He wants you to run to Him even when you have such thoughts. He knows exactly what you are going through and the despair that seems to be crushing you. Just bring it all to the Lord, but don’t stay in that place of discouragement. BRING ALL YOUR DESPAIR TO THE LORD, BUT DON’T STAY IN THAT PLACE OF DISCOURAGEM ENT.
Continue reading what David wrote. Psalm 13 ends with this: But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me. (Ps. 13:5–6) But. One little word that makes all the difference. It may feel like hopelessness might overcome you, but don’t give up. In the original Hebrew, the word the psalmist David used for mercy is hesed (grace), while the word used for salvation is yeshua. Keep trusting in His grace. Keep your eyes on your Yeshua, your Jesus. Your salvation—welfare, deliverance, and victory—is found in Him! As you talk to the Lord and spend time in His presence, you will find He does not give you the answer; He is the answer. Even when your outward circumstances do not seem to change, you will find that you have changed. Look at what happened to David as he cried out to God in Psalm 3:
