There is something about the holy Communion that you must know: simply ingesting the elements of the holy Communion will not yield results. When I first started teaching our church about the Communion, some of my church members would simply tell their friends who fell sick to partake of the Communion. While I understood their intentions, just going through the motions of eating the bread and drinking the cup devoid of a relationship with our loving Savior does not work. You can’t just eat the elements out of superstition or with the attitude of simply “trying it out.” You can’t just put Communion elements in the hands of your loved ones who are sick and simply tell them to eat. Like I mentioned before, there is nothing magical about the elements of the Communion. If you have no revelation of the significance of the Communion, and no sense of His love in your heart, the holy Communion becomes empty. Unlike diets and fitness plans, which work if you follow the prescribed rules, the power of the holy Communion is based on a revelation of the redemptive work of Christ and faith in His finished work.
HE PAID THE PRICE FOR YOU TO BE UNCOMMONLY HEALTHY, WHOLE, AND HEALED. HOW TO INCREASE IN FAITH If you don’t have a revelation or you don’t have faith, start listening to and watching sermons that are full of Jesus. Listen to teachings or read books about the holy Communion that unveil what He has done for you. The Bible tells us “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17). Did you notice that it doesn’t say faith comes by “having heard”? If you don’t have faith, you can cause faith to “come” by hearing and hearing. So keep on hearing, and don’t be satisfied with simply having heard.
