FOCUS ON GOD’S PROMISES,
NOT THE DISEASE
The tumor, the dialysis machine, and the feeding
tube are real. But it is so important for you to know
this: the power of God is even more real.
Do you know what happens if you hold up a
dime and bring it right up to one of your eyes while
keeping the other eye closed? That small dime
appears so big it can block your view of everything
else. As long as you keep focusing on that dime, you
are effectively blinded. That, my friend, is what the
enemy is trying to do to you right now.
The enemy wants you to be intensely focused on
the disease, the devastating medical report, the
incessant beeping of the monitors around you, and
the sterile smell of the hospital room. He wants you
to be completely fixated on the fears and questions
that keep screaming in your mind. As long as all you
can see is your pain, your dread, your
disappointment, and your suffering, he has the upper
hand.
And do you know why the enemy is bent on
keeping you absorbed in the challenge you are
facing? Because he is afraid you will see he has
already been defeated.
